Academic Symposia

Academic Symposia

In 2025, the Margaret Thatcher Centre is launching a series of annual academic symposia based around key anniversaries of landmark events during Margaret Thatcher’s premiership.
Under the chairmanship of the Academic Director of the Margaret Thatcher Centre, Tim Aker, the first symposium, held in the centennial year of her birth and during the 35th anniversary of her departure from Downing Street, will centre on exploring Margaret Thatcher’s legacy. The symposium is a 1 day conference followed by a drinks reception.
Early Bird Tickets at £75 are available until midnight on Sunday, 4th May: the 46th anniversary of Margaret Thatcher entering Downing Street.
Tickets will increase to £95 from Monday, 5th May 2025.
Preference is given to existing supporters and past attendees at Margaret Thatcher Centre events.
Right of admission is reserved.
The Margaret Thatcher Centre will also be publishing a hard-copy academic journal for which scholarly contributions for peer review will be invited.
