Youth Leadership
Through the teaching of the history of Margaret Thatcher and her work, we are providing the education that is needed to inspire the next generation of leaders.
The Youth Leadership Programme
This programme is aimed at students and recent graduates and will help to shape their philosophical beliefs by teaching them about Margaret Thatcher’s life, values using examples from her writings, speeches and life and giving them the skills training needed to become the next generation of leaders inspired by her example and achievements.

The Parliamentary Internship Programme

Since 2013, the Margaret Thatcher Centre has welcomed American students to work under a tier 5 visa for a three-month period for think tanks and MPs as part of their degree studies.
In 2023, the programme expanded to offer students the opportunity to work for law firms and barristers, in the print and broadcast media, and in public affairs and public relations. It is truly an unrivalled internship programme not offered by any other organisation.
In 2025, the programme is set to expand to encompass students from Texas, and to provide for Canadian students to take part, and then for internships to be offered under the auspices of the Margaret Thatcher Centre in London, Ottawa and Washington DC for British, American and Canadian students.
Educational Internships with the Margaret Thatcher Centre

Expanding on the work that the Centre has done throughout the past ten years, overseas students have the opportunity to engage in a range of programmes and events which allow them to achieve a greater understanding of both British politics and how Margaret Thatcher influenced it. Students who participate in the Centre’s educational programmes experience a number of placements, events and activities in order to increase their own awareness and understanding of British politics and the continuing influence of Margaret Thatcher’s life, values and achievements.
This includes a number of visits to educational landmarks which are designed to complement their academic studies.
